New pictures posted

I’ve been cleaning up my office – a yearly ritual – to get ready to work on the new books, and in the process found some old images I’d been planning to post for some time. They’re tucked away in the Old Pix page.
This is from our trip to Austin a couple of years ago. After the show we visited the County Line Barbecue where they treated us all to an amazing spread. Here are our former line producer, Russ Pitts, Patrick, Martin, and me dining. Things really are bigger in Texas!

I’ve posted some other pictures, including my old 3rd class radio license. Even DJs used to have to have these. I remember taking the train to the FCC offices in New York to get mine in 1976.

The rest of the images are on the Old Pix page. Click on the thumbnails for full sized images. When I get a chance I’ll reorganize the navigation so it’s easier to get to.

  1. Great pics! I had seen most of ’em but I love the tree stumps pics, lol!
You need to redo your Rush pic and pop a few, lol!

  2. Wow… What a world of change these days.. Now ANYONE can walk up to a mic at a radio station. (Honestly, it should still be required, ’cause it’d keep people like me out of the radio studio.. Jump to my website for clips of me on the air (it’s in the “Grab My Files! / Audio / Radio Show” section)

  3. Leo,
Seeing your third class (with broadcast endorsement) brought back memeories and adds fule to the fire of my pet theory that we were separated at birth. Sure, I’m about four years older than you and we were born hundreds of miles apart… but get this … I got my third in 1972 in Atlanta… four years ealier and hundreds of miles from NYC.

Consider for your approval, two men… nerds, with a bond that ties them…. well you get the idea…

  5. Nice photo of your license to be on the air.
The FCC has sure gotten very lenient of late
and yet they still fail to do the right thing
for commercial broadcasters but I digress.
