Thursday’s Throughput

Put on your rubbers. Another major solar storm is on its way today. Aren’t these things only supposed to peak every 11 years?

  1. Spammers have stolen addresses from the Orbitz database.
  2. Kazaa 2.6 is in beta. The new version allows multiple simultaneous searches and adds e-commerce capabilities. There’s a new ringtone channel for mobile phones, too.

BTW, they say not to call Gator spyware. Did they say we can’t call Claria spyware too? 😉

  3. The War of the Worlds was freakin’ cool! We had to listen to it in my “Early History of Broadcasting” class.

  4. I’m not so sure. What about excessive protein in the body? What about red meat and atherosclerosis? I don’t want to belittle the documented healthful benefit of losing weight, but at what cost. Long-term studies will tell us more about the overall success of the Atkins diet. And there is no substitute for regular exercise.
Yeah, WotW was a killer movie, too.
