I’m Whacking

Peter Pan opened last night and went very well. I’m always nervous watching productions of Peter Pan – so many things can go wrong.
Peter did get a little caught up in the rigging last night, and the rope yanked her off the bed once, and she almost hit the headboard another time, but it was otherwise blissfully uneventful.

There are two casts for this community theater production. Abby plays a Lost Boy in both and plays Jane (the grown Wendy Darling’s daughter for whom Peter comes in the last scene of the play) in Cast B. Cast B opens tonight! Abby has a sore throat so we kept her home from school today. I’m going to make her some chicken soup for lunch. I’m sure she’ll be ok by curtain time.

I brought my iBook to the theater last night and worked on the Almanac right up to show time. I’ll be working all day today. My schedule has settled into a nice rhythm. I work out in the morning, spend a little time in Leoville, then write til 11. Do an hour of weed whacking. (I bought a wicked little blade for the weed whacker that slices right through the suckers) then write for the rest of the afternoon. I could get used to this schedule!

Just to prove to the doubters that I actually am working I’ve been turning on the spycam and ibook cam in the afternoon. You can watch the sausage being made – and it ain’t pretty.

  1. WOW!! That is some serious weed whacking power. You must have some killer weeds. Gas garden tools Rule.

  2. hi, i dont get TechTV where i live, but i watch it every now and then at my friends house. screen savers rule. keep up the good work. i have a blog too if you care to check it out. it is a little on the “racey” side but you might enjoy it. http://www.bigfndan.com

  3. …and when you’re done whacking the weeds turn TechTV’s dressing room into “Leo’s Stylin’ Hair Shoppe.” Your own hairstyling place for your friends at TechTV. Guaranteed geek haircuts in 30 seconds or less!

  4. Tell Abby to break a leg! 🙂
Good luck with writing the book, can’t wait to see it on store shelfs!

  5. Here’s hoping Abby doesn’t break a leg in the literal sense. I love that “Fiasco” theme show from TAL. If streaming it on the site is a pain you can also get it on their CD: http://www.thislife.org/pages/cd.html
And what Kathleen said, we want the Pan pics. :o)
    Smooches,

  6. Glad to hear that you guys are doing well in the ratings. Chris and Cat over at ‘Call for help’ and you guys at ‘The screen savers’ do a great service for the tech community and those who just use tech stuff. I get Directtv, but I know our local cablevision service does not offer your network in its basic package. If it wasn’t for Directtv I would never have heard of Techtv. Heres to your continued ratings success and may other cable companies add Techtv to their lineup.

  7. The show is great!! I watch or tape everday if I have to be gone.
This is the 1st blog I’ve seen it looks like fun!
I have ME and wish you would do so ME information.
I’ve learned a lot from your show and from chris’s show.
I seems like no matter how how you know there is still so much to learn,
it is moving so fast it is impossible to keep up.. so THANKS for all
the help and knowledge you share.
I’m just learning DragonSpeak, I had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago and have
lost typing speed and accuracy. Maybe you could do a show on the different
programs that let you talk to your computer. I have been told that a
digital microphone would be the best to use, but I don’t know anything
about digital vs. analog(i hope this is right)and what would be the best
    choice.
We have been getting your show for 6 months, I was set to get rid of cable
when your show started…but I’m hoooooooked so the cable has to stay!
Well GREAT SAGE I’ve rambled on long enough……..

  9. I just want to know if you plan on sheering the animals with that thing. On second thought, I’ll just assume that it is only for the weeds!

  10. Leo,
Glad to hear you have a nice schedule worked out! Sounds like everything is running smoothly! I wondered why we saw Abby on the spycam today! Now I know!
I wonder, can you hook up the spycam to your ibook and send us pix of the play in progress tonight!? Just a thought!
It’s been fun watching you work, while I work.
    Good luck Abby!
    -Sue

  11. Thanks for the links, Leo, that TAL is really funny, if anyone has time, listen to it! BTW: I see the next production will be The Wizard of Oz….. how great! I hope Abby trys out for that one, too…. what great music.
For anyone with the DVD of The Wizard of Oz at home, be sure to check out the extra music cuts, priceless stuff… including rehearsal cuts of some songs and Arlen playing the piano and singing. I loved all the extras they put on that DVD and I almost missed them totally until a friend explained what it was, I think the section is called The Juke Box, it is more than just the songs, as I mistakenly first thought!
