Silicon Spin

Oops. I forgot to mention. I’m filling in for Dvorak on Silicon Spin Thursday and Friday. I did the first one today at 3p Eastern. It will rerun at 2:30a, 7a, and 10:30a Eastern. And I’ll be back with the Friday roundtable at 3p Pacific tomorrow.
Spin is fun – I’d been pitching a McLaughlin Group style roundtable since my days with c|net – but Dvorak’s job is safe!

  2. I’d have to concur witht some earlier comments. I really like Silicon Spin but now that it’s on early I can’t watch it as much. Somebody better get me a TiVo for christmas! One comment though, the friday shows are always the best shows. i like the format with the multiple guests live than the one or two guests over the satellite feed.

  3. I feel the same way about the Silicon Spin schedule. I shouldn’t have to set my VCR to catch the show every day. It was nice watching a good tech discussion right before bed time.

  4. Michael, if it wasn’t for Tivo I’d never get to see anything on Tech Tv, so I highly recommend it!
Nice job on Silicon Spin, Leo,I liked your comment about Dvorak taking his annual vacation leave to go to Columbia to harvest the coffee beans. :^)

  5. Hi Leo!
You did a great job on Silicon Spin last night! I look forward to tonight’s show. I am also looking forward to reading your book. It should arrive today or tomorrow.

  6. Are you SURE Dvorak’s job is safe? You did a mighty fine job Leo. Oh well, you’re better suited to Screen Savers life anyway, but bring on the Morgan, she’s on like what 5 minutes a show if that now?

  7. Leo,
I agree, they should at least rerun it in the evenings, when we have more time to watch. If anyone missed it, Anthony posted a picture of Leo in his purple tie on Silicon Spin in his Leo World Order thread. 😉

  9. Dear John,
Rest assured that Leo will keep Silicon Spin going while you are away. Maybe you can work out a deal where you can fill in for Leo when he’s away from The Screen Savers. Hmmmm…what do you think, Leo? LOL!
    Happy Holidays!

  10. I used to love Silicon Spin, but since it was cut from the nighttime lineup I never see it anymore. Please send the word to schedule it later. Thanks.

Not a good one, but one nonetheless.

  12. Hi Leo and fellow Bloggers,
This is way off topic but I was wondering- could you or anyone tell me what kind (brand, model, etc.) of ATX case was used in building Leo’s superpowered PC giveaway?
I want to build my own PC and I really like the look of the case of “Leo’s” computer when it has been all too briefly displayed on the show. Unfortunately, the info on the Screensavers website only describe it as an ATX 4 Bay case.
Of course, I could end up winning it, but I am being quite realistic about my chances! Thanks in advance,

  13. Leo, could someone suggest to Tech TV that one of these silicon spin shows be on in the evening so working folks could tune in? I’m sorry I’m missing your shows on spin. And the same for John C.’s own shows.
Yes I have a VCR but we all make mistakes…
It would be funny by the way to give John a change to rant on the air solo for about 15 minutes the way he does in the pages of PC magazine.
By the way it was great to see Martin come up with those 2 digital camera review sites for site of the night last week. Not only had I seen those before and found them very useful (they were very helpful when I was shopping for a digital camera) but it was nice to have SOTN be used for something besides the usual silliness. At times Martin seems to slide between the host/goofy personas he adopts (no doubt as management desires) and this was one of those times.
