Pictures from tonight’s show

I borrowed a digital camera from the products department to take some pix for the Blog. This is from Screen Savers. I’ll do some from TechLive tomorrow.

  1. LEO,
YOU ARE THE BEST…..NO MORE JOKES ON “TSS”….CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT!!!! WE JUNIOR GEEK NEED KNOWLEDGE…OH GREAT ONE…STOP PLAYING TO THE COUCH PEOPLE…THE TIME YOU WASTE TELLING JOKES IS TIME WASTED TEACHING US JUNIOR GEEKS!!
OK LEO MY REAL FEAR IS….AS A CHILD I SAT THRU MANY CORNY JOKES TOLD BY MY FATHER…AND KNOW I AM IN MY THIRTIES AND I FIND MYSELF TELLING THE SAME JOKE THAT MY FATHER TOLD ME AS A CHILD….AND THEY ARE STILL NOT FUNNY!!! I FEAR THAT I MAY BEGIN TELLING YOUR JOKES TO MY LOVED ONES…VERY SCARY THOUGHT HUH

    PAUL ELLEN

  2. Hey Leo…I am diehard fan of yours…But…Please loose the jokes during the monolouge on the TSS…It appears they are scripted (not very well)…If I (we) want to laugh, I’d tune to the cnbc and watch my portfolio dissappear…See what I mean…I’ve lost my sense of humor listening to those cheezy jokes in the TSS monolouge…I can’t spell by the way either Leo…thats not your fault….CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT…WE CRAVE TSS CONTENT..I ABSORB EVERYTHING COMPUTER…And please even with the new 1 1/2 show..interested segments are ended with “sorry we’ve run out of time”….noooo let them go brother..let them go til the guest has nothing left to say..Frankly Leo I would like to see any segment involving a guest end in a staring match! And finally..Please install a cam on Megan and Jessie during the show..Why…Do you have to ask. Woooo Woooo……

  3. Leo, just what kind of digital camera was that? I bet it wasn’t a Nikon Coolpix. (BTW, I saw the Coolpix 950 for under $500 at a Nikon Outlet website.)

I’ve been searching for a geek gear / clothing store that was mentioned on Tech TV recently but haven’t run across the url in the show notes.
I did find this interesting page which is a history of geeky t-shirts.
I should dig up an old Egghead t-shirt (from back when they had walk in stores)
and photograph it for that site.

I wish Prodigy Internet offered t-shirts like the old Prodigy Classic did.

  4. Frankly I’ve always found these CGI folk creepy (particularly the humans in Toy Story), although for some reason I don’t remember Dev Null being that bad, perhaps because he was more cartoonish.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I just don’t see the point of the CGI characters, other than saving some money. Without a REALLY strong personality behind them (like, ohhh, for example, LEO) they’re just kind of annoying. I mean, any remaining “oh cool” factor dissipated LONG ago, don’t you think?

  5. That’s a very nice picture of Megan Leo. she has such an awesome smile. I am not really sure the girls have found their niche yet, but they are both intelligent and lovely and it’s a cinch that you needed a female presence. I can’t wait to catch Kate’s segment. Perhaps Stacee and Sumi could do guest spots as well. Stacee’s shoe in to win the bear market babes contest. She’s so genuine. I really liked Martin’s segment last night. I was nodding through the second airing and didn’t retain much, but it was great as usual. I hope to convince our cable company to air your station during the day so I can catch part of tech live. I miss call for help, it was also a good show. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hey leo these pix were great. now that you know they turned out great i think its a good enough reason to get your very own!
and thanks for letting me ask that windows xp question on techlive today it was great. i thought it was so cool that you reconized me from this blog! did you see that xavier was putting his finger in his mouth then put his wet finger in my ear while i was talking to you. all i could do was smile cause i was on live. xavier loves to see himself on the computer with the netcam so he had fun.
when you take the pix of the techlive set could you get a good shot of the netcam booth area where all the monitors are, that would be great! and maybe some of the behind the scenes stuff.

  7. Brandon:
That animated guy in the picture is Dev Null, the CGI character that Leo played on the MSNBC show The Site, back when that was still on the air. I used to watch that show all the time, and when I first got TechTV (or ZDTV as it was still called then), I knew that Leo sounded familiar, but I didn’t recognize him, so I couldn’t figure out where I had heard him before. It wasn’t until much later that I found out that that was him.

  8. Thank-you! Yes! That’s the url I was looking for.
FYI, I did find another kewl geekwear site. I think Leo should get Tech TV’s wardrobe department to buy him this one:

Here are some more interesting items I found at that site:

Wipe Feet on doormat to continue

    and this is my favorite:
T-shirt with the message “We are Microsoft – Resistance is Futile – you will be assimilated”

BTW, I don’t have any connections to this store – just wanted to point out some fun items that are out there.
    Thanks again for the link!

BTW, did you see the “Leo’s Boot Camp” animated graphic I posted in my last blog entry? If you missed it, just click on my name below!

    I love Meghan too!
Love the way the show is going.

  18. Leo here is a little joke for you…
    Q. How many Californians does it take to screw in a light bulb?
    A. None. Californians cannot afford to turn on the lights.

  19. I cant wait for Megans and Jessica’s blog, besides wanting to know whats going on in their heads, I bet they find huge amounts of web content that never make it to the show. Hopefully it can be a outlet for some of it.

  20. I just put my foot in my mouth. My friend told me how to find the photos I just asked you for. Thanks, to both of you. Leo, keep up the great work. (You are well on your way to becoming a Prophet.)I won’t tell you where DRDS9298@…is going.
    Your fan,
    Ron

  21. One other thing…speaking of animated CGI people/characters…does anybody else think Tilda is kinda creepy now? Especially the eyes?

    you rock the house.
    rick

  23. LEO,
Thanks for showing us what goes on “behind the scenes” at TSS.
You should do this more often.
    -Luke
PS- Did you get my email?

  24. Sure, Brandon, that’s nice of you! (I’ve been basically advertising your name anyway by using “NOT Clark”…)
Of course if I were a braver man I’d just use my full name and e-mail address. Yeah right.
    — Brandon
